Once you have been diagnosed with a sleep disorder, AdaptHealth works to make the process as easy as possible.

We will carefully review all documents to ensure they meet the necessary standards set forth by your insurance company.
We will submit any required authorizations to your insurance company before you receive your new PAP machine.

Your physician sends us:

  • Prescription with your PAP pressure settings
  • Physician notes
  • Sleep study
  • Insurance information
  • Demographics

Prior to your appointment

Purchase Distilled Water

  • Distilled water should be used in your PAP machine to keep the humidifier chamber clean and working well
  • Distilled water prevents mineral build up, hinders bacteria growth, and makes sure the air you breathe is clean and will not irritate your lungs
  • Distilled water can be purchased from your local grocery store or retailer

Virtual Mask Fitting

  • If you were sent a text to complete a virtual mask fit, please ensure that it is completed so we can fit you with the best PAP mask based on your facial features and sleeping patterns
  • Please arrive a few minutes early for your appointment, if possible

During your appointment

  • Your visit will be approximately 1 to 1.5  hours in duration
  • Review your goals for improving your health and sleep
  • Education of Sleep Apnea
  • Learn about AdaptHealth
  • Review your new PAP machine and mask
  • Tips on adjusting to your new sleep therapy
  • Maintenance and care of your new PAP machine and supplies
  • Patient Responsibilities

After your appointment

Start Your New Therapy Tonight

  • Expect a follow-up call within 48-72 hours of setup
  • Familiarize yourself with the machine and your mask
  • Set up your new PAP machine wherever you’ll be sleeping
  • Try it out before you go to sleep
  • Our Sleep Coach team will closely monitor your usage and reach out if we see any problems arise

How long until I feel better? Some people notice improvement after the first night, while for others it takes a little longer. Persistence and consistency are key.
