Ethics & Accountability
At AdaptHealth, we foster a culture of ethical conduct, integrity, and open communication, conducting business in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Our industry-leading compliance program is a critical enabler for delivering high quality care to our nearly 4.3 million patients.
AdaptHealth has developed an industry-leading compliance program that spans the entire enterprise, including all subsidiaries. This focus on compliance starts at the top of the organization and benefits from the strong support of the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team. The Compliance Team operates independently and reports on a monthly and quarterly basis to the Board’s Compliance Committee and Executive Leadership. The program incorporates all the required elements from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Guidance, as well as factors from the Department of Justice's evaluation of corporate compliance programs.
In 2021, the Board commissioned an independent assessment of the compliance program to determine its ability to support the scale of the organization and the company’s growth strategy. Upon completion of this in-depth, five-month-long process, an independent auditor concluded that the program was well-designed and exceeded Medicare’s standards for Mobility & Home Equipment (DME) suppliers.
We also conduct an annual enterprise risk assessment to identify risks across the organization, collect relevant data, and implement risk mitigation measures. The risk assessment consists of a survey with eight enterprise risk categories that are determined based on current regulatory developments and company-specific compliance issues.
The compliance program includes ongoing education for all employees, focusing on basics as well as keeping employees up-to-date on compliance standards and topics as they evolve. Monthly live compliance training and refresher sessions serve to keep compliance at the front of employees’ minds and support quality everyday decision-making.
Code of Business Conduct & Ethics defines the principles and standards that guide our professional behavior and decision-making. It promotes integrity, honesty, and accountability in all business activities. The code ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies while fostering a respectful and ethical workplace. Employees are expected to act responsibly, avoid conflicts of interest, and uphold the organization’s values at all times.
Data Security refers to the practices and measures taken to protect sensitive and confidential information from unauthorized access, misuse, or loss. It ensures that personal, financial, and business data is handled responsibly and securely. Strong data security helps maintain customer trust, supports legal and regulatory compliance, and reduces the risk of data breaches. All employees are responsible for following data protection policies and safeguarding information in their daily work.
Environmental Impact
Because we recognize the importance of managing our environmental impact to help ensure a healthier planet for generations to come, we are committed to developing understanding of environmental impact metrics and identifying opportunities to improve.
A national leader in healthcare-at-home solutions, AdaptHealth serves approximately 4.3 million patients annually in 47 states through our network of approximately 638 locations. AdaptHealth’s locations consist of retail storefronts, warehouses, and office spaces. We also manage a fleet of both owned and leased vehicles for delivering products to customers. Because we recognize the importance of managing our environmental impact to help ensure a healthier planet for generations to come, we are committed to developing understanding of environmental impact metrics and identifying opportunities to improve.
We are driving change and efficiencies with technology to help patients stay healthy at home. AdaptHealth’s product offerings consist primarily of home medical equipment (HME) and consumable supplies. In addition to leveraging technology for efficiency and innovation, we evaluate our products to determine other ways to maximize utility and minimize environmental impact. For example, we have a program to reclaim and refurbish certain machines for deployment back in the field. By extending the useful life of patient equipment, we can help reduce waste related to existing machines and increase the availability of solutions to our patient population.
With the help of a third-party consultant, we are currently evaluating of the energy, water, and waste data across our entire business network to establish a baseline and visibility into our consumption patterns. Upon completion of this evaluation, we expect to identify efficiencies and cost saving opportunities, and establish a baseline for a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory and other environmental metrics.
While some of our environmental initiatives are in the early days, we are establishing a strong foundation upon which to build. By delivering on AdaptHealth’s mission of transitioning more patient care to the home as opposed to requiring large healthcare facilities and institutions, there is significant opportunity to contribute to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable healthcare system.
Mission & Vision define the organization’s purpose and long-term direction. The mission explains what we do, whom we serve, and how we create value through our products and services. The vision outlines our future goals and aspirations, guiding growth and innovation. Together, they align employees toward shared objectives and inspire commitment to achieving sustainable success.
Product Life Cycle describes the stages a product goes through from initial concept and development to market introduction, growth, maturity, and eventual decline. It helps organizations plan product strategy, pricing, marketing, and improvements at each stage. Understanding the product life cycle supports better decision-making and resource allocation. It also enables timely innovation to meet changing customer needs and market conditions.

AdaptHealth is the leading innovator in healthcare at home, providing best-in-class services and superior technology to improve patient lives while reducing the overall cost of care. We improve the lives of patients suffering from sleep apnea, diabetes, respiratory illnesses, and other chronic diseases by providing equipment and services that allow patients to live their best lives out of the hospital and in their homes. Chronic disease is the largest driver of healthcare spending in the United States, estimated at approximately $4 trillion annually. Our patient-first, tech-enabled care model plays a critical role in lowering costs for the health system. By enabling treatment and monitoring in the home, AdaptHealth’s solutions are more affordable for patients compared to care provided in the hospital or institutional setting.
Our leading therapies and our team of over 1,000 clinicians provide care to 4.3 million patients across the country. Completing more than 38,444 deliveries every day to our patients’ homes, we leverage scale and technology to deliver crucial therapies on time and at lower cost. AdaptHealth’s innovation in technology is leading the digital transformation of the home healthcare industry. Leaning into modern, digitized workflows for electronic prescribing and mobile documentation has established AdaptHealth as an industry leader in tech-enabled patient engagement. For example, our proprietary cloud-based mobile delivery software improves the patient experience by reducing the time between delivery, billing, and reimbursement.
We are investing in information technology systems to create a value-based connected care model that will drive exceptional customer service and keep more patients healthy at home. Our strategic vision for the future – AdaptHealth 2.0 – is centered upon improving our ability to provide real time, actionable data through integrated technology platforms, to enable better health outcomes for patients, more referrals for providers, and more efficient payments for payors.
AdaptHealth’s patient-first, care-based approach positions us as the partner of choice for referral partners and payors. For our extensive network of 1,359 payors, we have built out a direct payor technology platform that reduces administrative costs and avoids delays in discharge, allowing more patients to receive treatment at home faster. A network of 70,000 primary care physicians and 1,000 health systems allows us to create deep relationships with referral sources and expand services to support patients throughout the progression of their diseases.
